25 aniversario de BOY

Se acaban de cumplir 25 años de la públicación de Boy en 1980....Parece que fue ayer.

Afotunadamente, durante la gira U2//Vertigo Tour, Bono y sus chicos han dedicido recuperar las canciones y tocarlas en directo, cosa bastante acertada, ya que las canciones de BOY estan plenamente vigentes (¡The Electric Co. y I will follow suenan increibles!).

Bono estuvo almorzando con el Presidente Bush durante 40 minutos, durante el cual, hablaron sobre la condonacion de la deuda a los paises pobres, el SIDA y otras enfermedades, sobre el comercio mundial etc..
Bono, en una entrevista concedida a la revista Rolling Stone antes del almuerzo, comento que el no tenia ningun miedo a entrevistarse con los lideres mundiales, y que estos si deberian tenerlo ya que seran los responsables de lo que esta pasando ante sus ojos. Ademas, comento que esta representando a la gente mas pobre y vulnerable, y que siente, que a un nivel espiritual, estan a su lado.

Los chicos de U2 estan bastante molestos porque los politicos americanos utilizan sus conciertos para promocionar sus campañas politicas.
Por ejemplo, Hillary Clinton, ha invitado a 18 personas el 19 de Octubre para asistir al concierto que U2 va a dar en el "Washington's MCI Center".Eso si, tienen que contribuir con $2,500 al partido Democrata. La suite para ver el concierto vale $7,000, y por supuesto, se ve muy bien el escenario. Otro ejemplo, el Senador Rick Santorum, Republicano, espera recaudar en una "reunion" similar $1,000 por persona el dia 10/16/2005 en el concierto de U2 en Philadelphia (Wachovia Center)

En fin, ¡que suerte tienen algunos!

Bono y Milla Jovovich

Esta foto corresponde al festival de cine de Berlin del año 2000.
Bono y Milla Jovovich fueron a presentar la pelicula "The Million Dollar Hotel", pelicula dirigida por el amigo de Bono, Wim Wenders, y en la que nos encontramos a actores como Mel Gibson, Jeremy Davies y Milla Jovovich. Bono se encargo de co-escribir la pelicula y ademas la produjo. La banda sonar de la pelicula cuenta con 6 canciones de U2 (más información en un post anterior). Milla Jovovich, que es una estupenda modelo, ha participado en numerosas peliculas, como El quinto elemento, Resident Evil I y II, Zoolander, La Historia de Juana de Arco...

Interesante articulo en el periodico The Boston Globe: "Wide awake in Europe with U2". Esta en ingles y es bastante largo, pero merece la pena. Hace un desglose por canciones del concierto que U2 dio en Viena, en el Ernst Happel Stadium. Me da la sensación de que la gira Vertigo Tour va a ser bastante recordada.
