Do they know it's Christmas? es la canción que compusieron Bob Geldof y Midge Ure en 1984 para recaudar fondos para Etiopia. Fue la antesala de Live AID, momento en la carrera de U2, en el cual se dio a conocer definitivamente a nivel mundial.Entre los participantes en este single "Do they know it's Christmas?" producido por Midge Ure y Trevor Horn, se encontraban entre otros: Sting, Rick Parfitt, Nick Rhodes, David Bowie, Boy George, Paul McCartney, George Michael, Phil Collins, Bono y Adam Clayton.
En 2004 se produjo una reedición de este single "Band Aid 20: Do they know it's Christmas?", y en él volvió a participar Bono. Otros participantes fueron: Chris Martin, Dido, Robbie Williams, Sugababes, Jamelia, Ms Dynamite, Beverly Knight, Joss Stone, Tom Chaplin, Dizzee Rascal Fran Healey, Justin Hawkins, Will Young...
